The first-ever Beignet Fest will take over Lafayette Square in New Orleans on Saturday, October 8, but you probably already knew that.

What you probably didn’t know is the various dishes that will be available when the food festival makes its debut next month. That’s about to change, as Beignet Fest just released the it list of vendors, along with some information about they’ll be offering.

Last month Beignet Fest promised to deliver an assortment of sweet and savory beignets, and it looks like they were not lying. The lineup includes obvious things like traditional beignets (Cafe Beignet, New Orleans Coffee and Beignet Company), as well as more intriguing options like shrimp & corn maque choux beignets (Fulton Alley), fish beignets (Royal House) and bacon cheddar beignets with chipotle crema (Howlin’ Wolf Den).

As previously reported, celebrity judges will be on hand to give awards for best savory, best sweet and most original beignets. A social media-based contest will determine the crowd favorite beignet.

The festival will also feature music from Big Sam’s Funky Nation, John Papa Gros Band, Los Po-Boy-Citos, The Confetti Park Players Chorus and Alexandra Scott.

Beignet Fest will raise awareness and funds for autism programs in New Orleans, with a portion of the proceeds from food and beverage sales benefitting the newly established Tres Doux Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to “celebrate, embrace and enhance the lives of children with developmental delays and disabilities by presenting them as whole beings, and to support organizations that do the same.”
