Jazz fans won’t want to miss a special musical program with the Dr. Michael White Quartet on Sunday, May 22, at the historic Beauregard-Keyes House & Gardens, located at 1113 Chartres Street in the French Quarter.
Dr. White and his fellow band members will perform authentic traditional New Orleans style jazz that will include commentary about the history of the genre, including major figures in the early jazz scene, their stylistic characteristics and social significance.
The presentation will take place from 6-8 pm; doors open at 5:30. Tickets are $30 for museum members and $40 for non-members and may be pre-purchased online at bkhouse.org.
Although some refreshments and treats will be offered, attendees are encourage to bring their own beverage of choice along with cups and bottle openers.
Affectionately known to neighbors and supporters as “BK House,” the historic property at 1113 Chartres Street, has been inhabited by a variety of individuals and families since 1826.
