Country music fans will converge on New Orleans when Bayou Country Superfest takes over the Superdome for the first time on Memorial Day Weekend 2017.
Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn, Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts and Hank Williams Jr. are among the acts that will perform at Superfest, an event that consistently draws some of the biggest name in country music. Lambert is slated to headline Saturday, May 27, while Shelton will hold down the top slot on Sunday, May 28.
In keeping with tradition, Bayou Country Superfest will host a free kick-off event on Friday, May 25, with this one taking place at nearby Champions Square. Easton Corbin, Eric Paslay and Dylan Scott are scheduled to perform at the party.
Past Superfests have also featured a free Fan Fest in conjunction with the main event. Those gatherings have generally taken place in hours before the festival’s gates open, though no details on 2017’s Fan Fest have been announced at this time.
As previously reported, 2017 will mark Bayou Country Superfest’s first incarnation in New Orleans following seven years at Baton Rouge’s Tiger Stadium, as upcoming renovation on LSU’s iconic stadium have forced the event to relocate. Evidently, Gonzales, LA’s Lamar Dixon Expo Center also made a pitch for hosting the festival, but in the end it looks like air-conditioning and a big city vibe won out.
Tickets for Bayou Country will go on sale Thursday, December 8 at 10am. The full 2017 lineup can be found here.
