Since 1974, the Bayou Classic has brought fans of Grambling State University and Southern University to New Orleans for the schools’ annual football showdown.
While the main event has always taken place inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the party tends to extend beyond football. One popular aspect of the festivities is the Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will return to downtown New Orleans on Thursday, November 24.
The parade will kick off at at the Dome at 3:30pm before heading through the CBD on its way to the French Quarter, where it will roll down Decatur Street until it terminates at the French Market. Both Southern University’s Human Jukebox and the Grambling State University’s Marching Tigers marching bands will participate in the parade.
Other Bayou Classic events include the Greek Show and Battle of the Bands, which are set to take place at the Dome on Friday, November 25. Of course, the game will go down on Saturday, November 26.
