Baton Rouge Blues Festival canceled due to COVID resurgence

The Baton Rouge Blues Festival and Foundation announced todat that due to the ongoing public health emergency related to the resurgence COVID-19 infections in Louisiana, specifically Baton Rouge, the 2021 edition of the Baton Rouge Blues Festival slated for Saturday, September 18, has been canceled.

In a press release the festival organizers stated, “This decision is based on preserving the health and safety of attendees, volunteers, partners and vendors. The Blues Heritage Awards slated for Thursday, September 16, is also being postponed. We set our sights on April of 2022 and plan for our regularly scheduled late spring Baton Rouge Blues Festival.”

Fans who have already purchased VIP Experience passes have the option to retain their tickets until April, but refunds will be made available.

The free-to-the-public, family-friendly festival located in and around Galvez Plaza and North Boulevard was to feature internationally recognized performers and local blues legends alike, including Robert Finley, Kenny Neal, Nikki Hill, Jonathon Boogie Long, Sam Hogan & The Rhythm Ramblers, Lil Ray Neal, Alabama Slim, Smokehouse & Mamie Porter, Little Jimmy Reed, Josh Garrett, Erica Falls, Lilli Lewis Project and more.
