Backstreet Cultural Museum Reopens on Tuesday June 23

The Backstreet Cultural Museum, the city’s main repository of artifacts and information regarding Mardi Gras Indians, Social Aid & Pleasure Clubs, second lines and more indigenous New Orleans Black culture, has been closed since early March as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The Museum will reopen on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 and will welcome visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays (closed Sunday and Monday). Admission is $10 per person (cash only). To reserve a tour for groups of 10 or more please call 504-657-6700. Masks will be required to enter the museum, to ensure all visitors’ and staff’s safety.
