Background Work available on new Reese Witherspoon Film

Background work is now available on a new film from Reese Witherspoon titled Where the Crawdads Sing. Acting experience is not required as these are non-speaking roles.

The film is based on the New York Times best selling novel of the same name with a screenplay written by Beasts of the Southern Wild alum, Lucy Alibar. The project will be produced by Oscar winner and Louisiana native Reese Witherspoon and is set in the 1950s-’60s. Filming will take place in New Orleans and Houma from now through June of this year.

Caballero Casting, who has cast the most recent Bill and Ted film, Queen of the South, and more, is handling the extras casting. Those who apply should have natural colored hair (no “fancy” colors) and no visible tattoos. The rate of pay is $105 for 12 hours of work for general background, ages 18+. Minors will be paid $80 for eight hours. It should be noted that oftentimes background work is a full day commitment with an early call time.

Those interested will have to email a natural, untouched photograph to the casting department and include their height, weight, and clothing sizes. Covid testing will be required to perform background work. For the full application details, click here.
