The Avett Brothers have confirmed that they will return to New Orleans on Friday, December 1 for a headlining show at the Saenger Theatre. The gig will be a makeup date for their previously scheduled March 30 concert, which was postponed after singer and banjoist Scott Avett came down with the flu.
However, the upcoming December show won’t even be The Avett Brothers’ next concert in the New Orleans area. As previously reported, the popular string band is slated to perform at The Shrine on Airline in Metairie when the Outlaw Music Festival Tour swings through the region on July 1. Joining them on the bill will be Willie Nelson & Family, Sheryl Crow, and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.
All tickets for The Avett Brothers’ previously scheduled March 30 concert will be honored at the December 1 date. A few remaining tickets are available via Ticketmaster,.
