After last week’s weather scare, Art For Arts’ Sake’s street and gallery festival was rescheduled to Saturday, October 14.
Originally slated for October 7, the event will highlight the start of the New Orleans art season. Multiple art galleries, antique and jewelry stores, gift shops and restaurants will open their doors to more 30,000 art lovers. The Contemporary Arts Center (900 Camp Street) will host the evening’s master class and dance performances, followed by the First Saturday Gallery Openings on Julia Street and throughout the Arts District of New Orleans and the Arts Market Downtown. This year, Art for Arts’ Sake DOWNTOWN includes a Gallery Hunt through the Arts District New Orleans. To participate, grab a card from the CAC, Ogden, Arts Market Downtown, or one of the participating galleries, and visit at least one gallery on each block to win fabulous prizes from the Friends of ADNO.
Galleries participating on Magazine Street include Aikido, Antieau, Carol Robinson, Esom, and more. Those interested in checking out the Warehouse Arts District should focus on Julia Street, where many of the galleries will feature cash bars.
