Anaïs St. John, the jazz singer who incorporates jazz, cabaret, musical theater, and opera into her sultry performances, continues her live stream streak with pianist Harry Mayronne. Performing once again for Porch Fest, St. John and Mayronne will perform (and livestream) the songs of Lena Horne from her purple and blue patio in Algiers Point.
The singer’s other live stream performances this summer have included songs by Elton John and Carole King. One 80s medley in August included works by Madonna, Prince, George Michael, Whitney Houston, and more. According to the singer’s Facebook page, the two have performed 22 livestreams this year.
“First and foremost, Anaïs and I are friends,” says Mayronne. “Our musical telepathy makes every performance an experience. With our Porch Fest we continue to add new material every week.”
In an interview with Breakthru Media earlier this summer, the sultry St. John said, “The show is being shared all over the world, but quite simply it is a small festival happening in my own front yard. Every Saturday there are a handful of people who socially distance themselves on the sidewalks and bring their wine and appetizers. But I also have friends who have driven eight hours to come to socially distance see me perform.”
Harry Mayronne will perform solo piano Thursday, September 24 at 8 p.m. Live stream details can be found here.
