Court 13, the artist collective behind the critically-acclaimed indie film Beasts of the Southern Wild, has announced the details for this year’s Always For Pleasure Festival. Slated for November 12 through 14, the event promises to combine “elements of film and music festivals with the Bacchanalian rampage of second-lines and Mardi Gras.”
Always for Pleasure Festival will feature a number of interesting showcases, including a special performance by the Lost Bayou Ramblers, a presentation from the filmmakers responsible for DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s popular “Turn Down for What” music video, an Erotic Tin Type photobooth, a DIY Strip Club called “Dicksgiving’s Steamy Dripping Gravy Boat of Broken Dreams,” a number of dance parties, screenings of the Les Blank documentaries Always for Pleasure and A Poem is a Naked Person, and so much more.
The various parades, shows and other events will take place across the Bywater, Marigny, French Quarter and Arabi before the festival wraps up with a Gala After Party.
All-inclusive Always For Pleasure tickets (which come with four drink tickets and five “stripper $$$) are available now for $25, and individual events will be ticketed at the door. A full schedule and other information can be found via Court 13’s website.
