Alvin Youngblood Hart and Papa Mali will ring in the New Year with a December 31 show at BJ’s in the Bywater. The cover for the night will be a reasonable ten dollars at the door–even more reasonable when you account for the complimentary champagne and black eyed peas.

The blues duo will begin playing at 10pm, and there will be another late night set following the fireworks.

Papa Mali explained the decision to celebrate the end of our latest trip around the sun at BJ’s in the Bywater via a Facebook post that reads:

Me and Alvin Youngblood Hart started talking about doing a NYE gig back in September. We called around, got a couple of offers out of town, but ultimately decided we’d rather stay home and throw a party with our friends and neighbors. BJ’s in the Bywater offered to let us do it the way we wanted, by keeping the ticket price low and the fun level high. Let’s rock!
