Let those cool gulf breezes and little Allman groove take you on a road trip this weekend to the Bay Harbor Fest in Bay St. Louis.
From July 17th through July 19th, the fest provides one of the best possible escapes from the heat in the New Orleans “bowl”: a weekend of live music, food and art at the Bay St. Louis Municipal Harbor and Beach. You can even motivate your boat to the fest with a special pass, and VIP landlubbers’ passes are also available.
The festival lineup features Gregg Allman of the famed Allman Brothers, along with an energetic collection of bands of all sorts of genres, including the amazing guitar prodigy Brandon Niederauer. (See the full schedule below.)
One of the big features of the festival is its plethora of arts vendors, so attendees will be able to pick up artisan wares by locals. This year’s fest showcases the creations of NOLA Oyster Art, Tim Kennedy’s sculpture, PAW Woodcarving, Izzy’s Innovations, Jimmy Stroud Digital Photography, and tons more that you can view at the festival’s website here.
Food vendors include BB’s Bar-B-Que, St. Rose de Lima’s Famous Fish, Cypress Catering & Cafe, Big Easy Kettle Corn, Cajun Nights, Kona Ice, Ruben’s Concessions, Granny’s Lemonade, BB’s Sno-Balls, and Geaux Taceaux.
Over 5,000 sun- and music- worshippers are expected to attend this year.
Don’t forget to bring a bathing suit, and your boat, if you have one. There’s a “Boaters’ Rendezvous Pass” that gives VIP viewing to those who want to go to the fest by water.
