WWL-TV reports that Allen Toussaint’s funeral service will take place this Friday, November 20 at the Orpheum Theatre.

The newly renovated theater will host a public visitation from 8am to 10:45am, while a musical tribute coordinated by Jazz Fest producer Quint Davis and others will follow at 11am. Toussaint will then be laid to rest in a private burial.

As previously reported, Toussaint passed away last week when he suffered a heart attack after a show in Madrid, Spain. He was 77.
