Aaron Neville will celebrate his 75th birthday at New York City’s Brooklyn Bowl with a bevy of talented special guests on Thursday, August 4.
The iconic New Orleans singer will be joined by Dr. John, Dumpstaphunk, Eric Krasno and George Porter Jr. and the Runnin’ Pardners for a special concert at the music venue/bowling alley.
All of the aforementioned artists have deep connections with Neville, who first rose to national prominence 50 years ago with the 1966 hit “Tell It Like It Is.” Both Dr. John and Porter hail from the same generation of New Orleans musicians as Neville, and have collaborated with him in various capacities for decades. Dumpstaphunk is led by the crooner’s son, Ivan Neville, and features his nephew, Ian Neville, on guitar. Krasno fell into Neville’s orbit more recently when he produced the singer’s latest album, 2016’s Apache.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Wednesday, July 27 at noon ET.
