The Historic New Orleans Collection will host a free screening of the 2014 Huey P. Long documentary “61 Bullets” on Sunday, July 12, at 1 p.m.
The documentary looks at the deaths of Louisiana Governor Huey P. Long and his alleged assassin Dr. Carl Weiss.
Following the screening, there will be a question-and-answer session with filmmaker Yvonne Boudreaux, Alecia Long, associate professor of history at Louisiana State University, and Michael Wynne, a collector of Huey P. Long materials.
The documentary will be accompanied by the current exhibition “From Winnfield to Washington: The Life and Career of Huey P. Long.”
The Historic New Orleans Collection is located at 410 Chartres St in the French Quarter.
