The 5th annual Greenway Supernova returns from December 12–14, transforming the Lafitte Greenway into a vibrant celebration of light, art, and community. From 5 to 9 p.m. each evening, the Greenway Plaza and Station will come alive with luminary art installations, live performances and family-friendly activities, all while supporting the continued growth and care of the Greenway.
This year’s event features dazzling light sculptures by local artists, including works by Jaime Bird, Jessica Bizer and the Milagros Collective. The musical lineup includes New Orleans favorites such as Kristin Diable, LeTrainiump, Cuba Heat and Dusky Waters. Thursday’s festivities will highlight a collaboration with the Crescent City Farmers Market, showcasing fresh produce, artisanal goods and culinary delights.
The festivities are free and open to the public, but attendees can also support the Greenway through donations and sponsorships. A special ticketed Preview Party on December 11 will offer an exclusive first look at the light installations, artist meet-and-greets, and performances including silk aerialists and glow-in-the-dark cotton candy.
The Lafitte Greenway, a 2.6-mile multi-use trail and linear park, connects the French Quarter to Bayou St. John and serves over 320,000 visitors annually. Proceeds from Supernova will fund future programming and enhancements to this vital public space.
