This past year has been a game-changer for New Orleans-born hip hop artist Ariel Riley, a.k.a. 504icygrl. She popped up on the music scene in 2019 and despite a global pandemic shortly after, she didn’t let that slow her down. She has since managed to drop three releases, performed countless shows, including one at BUKU Festival, headlined a successful tour where she sold out two cities, secured a NIKE campaign for the Nike AF1 shoe, was nominated for our Best of The Beat Award for Best Emerging Artist, started a cannabis brand, performed a 30 minute set at Essence Fest and continues to gain momentum.
She grew up on the West Bank and spent a lot of time in the Jefferson Parish Library which allowed her to become a skilled writer at a very young age. She moved out to Los Angeles alone in 2018 and began writing short stories before moving into her music career. These days 504icygrl splits her time between New Orleans and Los Angelas.
Now this “504 Princess” unveils her latest visual for her song “Kitchen” – a bouncy gem off of her recent project “Fried”.
As a proud native of the vibrant city of New Orleans, 504icygrl not only lends her lyrical prowess to the track but also took the directorial reins to bring her vision to life on screen. The “Kitchen” music video is a unique fusion of 504icygrl’s two great loves – music and culinary arts. Inspired by her passion for cooking and the rich flavors of New Orleans, the visuals offer a sensory feast that transports viewers into the heart of the city’s vibrant culture. “Kitchen” was directed by 504icygrl herself, shot by California based videographer Sun Lit Media, and edited by Srikar Poruri. 504icygrl Releases New Music
