Time is running out for unheralded photographic geniuses to get in on the Michael P. Smith Fund for Documentary Photography’s annual $5000 grant.
Documentary photographers, both emerging and established, residing in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida are eligible to apply. You will need to supply a portfolio of 20-25 images, and a statement that demonstrates your commitment to a cultural documentary project.
The contest was created by the New Orleans Photo Alliance (NOPA) to honor the life and work of Michael P. Smith, the great New Orleans photographer whose work is still prominent at Jazz Fest and elsewhere. NOPA specifically asks that you “don’t wait till March 28 to start the process!,” but if you can be brilliant with a short deadline, we won’t turn you in.
DEADLINE: Friday, March 29, 2013
Hop on it NOLA photographers!
