New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation hosts five summer concerts

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation will present five performances in 2022 Jazz & Heritage Summer Concert Series. The series will feature local musicians playing at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center at 1225 N. Rampart Street.

Thursday, June 16 | Bon Bon Vivant

Local indie band that electrifies audiences across the country with their signature blend of singer songwriter/jazz/Americana/dark ballads and up-tempo indie dance rock. BBVs original music pays homage to the bawdy New Orleans sound while infusing an indie flavor that leaves a lasting mark on listeners.

Saturday, June 25 | Tuba Skinny

Traditional jazz street band with influences of jug band music, spirituals, country blues, string band music, ragtime, and New Orleans R&B. The ensemble draws its inspiration from the early jazz, ragtime, and blues music of the 1920s and 1930s

Saturday, July 9 | Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue

Sometimes called “The Punk Rock Patsy Cline”, “The Gal” is Vanessa Niemann, an Appalachian-born songstress and with the Honky Tonk Revue in tow, this band offers a vanguard approach to country music. Evocative songwriting and an infectious sound make this a rollicking, toe-tapping musical ruckus.

Saturday, July 16 | Arséne DeLay

American singer-songwriter Arséne DeLay glides through jazz, R&B, blues, rock and roll, funk, and folk. With a musical family legacy recalling New Orleans’ most storied melodic contributors, Arsene pays homage to her heritage through her constant authentic musicianship.

Saturday, July 23 | Lynn Drury

Local New Orleans musician Lynn Drury has performed her unique style of roots rock on most of the stages across the city.  At once personal with a voice distinct, Drury is bringing definitive New Orleans Americana to the Jazz & Heritage Summer Concert Series

Tickets are $10. All proceeds from this concert series directly support efforts of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins promptly at 8 p.m. Seating is limited, so please register in advance here.

All performances will be livestreamed on jazzandheritage.org/live and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation YouTube channel and Facebook page.
