The Soul Rebels, New Orleans’ own famed brass band (and multiple Best of the Beat Award winners), will team up with one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time, Wu-Tang Clan, for the 36 Chambers Anniversary Tour. The groups will be toasting 25 years since Wu-Tang Clan’s debut studio album, Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, was released. So far, Chicago and Montville, CT, have been the only two announced cities on the tour so far.
Wu-Tang Clan is a Staten Island, New York group that has gained the reputation of being arguably the greatest hip-hop group ever created. Originally composed of East Coast rappers RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa, the group has since added their longtime collaborator Cappadonna as a member.
With four gold and platinum albums, Wu-Tang Clan is an unstoppable force in the hip-hop world. Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) is considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever created and will be the star of their upcoming tour.
The Soul Rebels are the perfect brass band to accompany Wu-Tang Clan on the tour because of their ability to push the boundaries of what audiences may think of as hip-hop music and a brass band. The Soul Rebels have been promoting their unique hip-hop brass band sound all around the U.S. since the late 1990s and have made a name for themselves within the music industry. The band has collaborated with iconic musicians like Rakim and Prodigy along with Marilyn Manson and Metallica. The band is becoming New Orleans’ most popular touring brass band in hip-hop.
Plus, The Soul Rebels recently backed GZA on the MC’s Tiny Desk Concert.
The combination of Wu-Tang Clan’s classic album with the Soul Rebel’s unique sound will create an experience any hip-hop music lover will not want to miss. For more information, click here.
