Next month, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood will bring their latest album, Barefoot in the Head, to live on stage in New Orleans. Chris Robinson, Neal Casal, Tony Leone, Adam MacDougall and Jeff Hill kicked off a massive US tour in Richmond, Virginia on August 2 and will be on the road through November 18 when the tour ends in Detroit, Michigan. On Friday, September 7, the band will make its New Orleans stop.
Barefoot in the Head is described as “overspilling with stunning musicianship and infectious energy.” Less than one year removed from its release, Chris Robinson Brotherhood has started work on its follow-up which will likely feature the songs “Venus in Chrome” and “The Chauffeur’s Daughter,” two songs which have made their way into CRB’s live sets as of late.
Explains Robinson, “The music that we make, the concerts that we play, it’s this world we’ve created for ourselves and our people. The idea of it being a commercial enterprise or about popularity or about anything superficial is so far removed from what makes it go for us. We don’t have the weight of responsibility or nostalgia, which means we’re in the very psychedelic situation of getting to be totally honest and create everything in the moment. That’s freedom.”
Chris Robinson Brotherhood headlines the Joy Theater on September 7. Tickets for the all-ages show are available here and range from $25 GA to $249 with VIP packages in between.
