The first few weeks of 2018 have already proven to be a climactic year for Portugal. The Man full of accolades, well-deserved recognition and a highly anticipated North American and European tour to follow.
Portugal. The Man will visit New Orleans on September 14 during the band’s 2018 tour promoting its most recent album Woodstock.
The tour announcement came directly after the band’s victory at last week’s Grammy Awards, where the outfit was awarded Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for two-time platinum certified single “Feel It Still.” Kicking off February 6 in Alberta, Canada, the tour will end in October in the band’s home state of Alaska.
Woodstock came after a period of what seemed to be a hiatus for Portugal. The Man. The band’s last visit to New Orleans was in April of 2017, with much of the band’s performance relying heavily on the 2013 album Evil Friends. The band hinted at new tracks to come, which have materialized in its latest album Woodstock.
“Feel It Still” carries the recognition of one of the most played and recognizable songs of 2017, and remains popular into this year, with over a 100 million views on YouTube. The Grammy winning single has been inundated in a variety of platforms and advertising campaigns for big name brands such as Apple, Nike, American Express, HBO and Vitamin Water.
Meanwhile, Portugal. The Man’s next single from the album Woodstock, “Live in the Moment” is currently spending its third consecutive week overall on the Triple A Radio chart. The band is set to perform the single on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, February 20.
