Three badass musicians will team up for a benefit show in support of Senate candidate Foster Campbell on Thursday, November 17.
Hurray for the Riff Raff (solo), Helen Gillet and Aurora Nealand’s Monocle will perform during the concert/rally at Siberia. Tickets will be $20 at the door, with the proceeds going to support Campbell’s Senate bid.
Campbell, a Democrat from Shreveport, will face Republican John Kennedy in the runoff for the Louisiana Senate seat that was previously occupied by David Vitter. All eyes are on the race following the Democrats’ poor performance in last week’s election, as the upcoming runoff offers the party one last chance to garner another seat in Congress’ upper chamber. Voters will cast their ballots on December 10.
Thursday’s benefit will mark the latest politically minded performance from Hurray for the Riff Raff frontwoman Alynda Lee Segarra. The singer-songwriter organized the first ever Nosotros Festival—an event aimed at “uniting latinxs of all backgrounds to come together in the name of art, expression and protest”—at New York City’s Ballroom earlier this month, and continues to voice her political beliefs both on and off the stage.
