The 2023 ESSENCE Festival of Culture, presented by Coca-Cola, has announced the full lineup ahead of the festival’s annual return to New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome from Thursday, June 29, through Monday, July 3. Essence will celebrate 50 years of hip-hop with an evening concert series.
Per our earlier announcement, headliners for the festival include Ms. Lauryn Hill, with a special performance celebrating the 25th anniversary of the album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, as well as Missy Elliot and Megan Thee Stallion.
The ESSENCE Festival of Culture has now announced that they will also showcase curated and hosted performances, including the “50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop Curation” curated by Doug E. Fresh, “The South Got Something to Say” curated by Jermaine Dupri, “50 Years of Women in Hip-Hop” hosted by Angie Martinez and “West Coast All-Stars” featuring Ice Cube.
These curated and hosted shows are to include performances by Slick Rick, Gucci Mane, Salt-N-Pepa and Ice-T, to name a few.
Ticket prices for 2023 ESSENCE Festival are listed as $80 per individual day, and full-weekend tickets are currently sold out, according to Ticketmaster.
