Categories include short films (limited to 45 minutes), feature films (between 45 and 90 minutes long) and music videos. Awards are determined by audience choice and festival jury. There will also be a panel of filmmakers for Q&As.
The festival will showcase feature-length and short films of all genres, documentaries, experimental films, and music videos. It has been produced by students at Loyola University New Orleans each year.
“CCFF is committed to uplifting independent cinema and filmmakers of the widely diverse American South,” stated a press release from the organization, “We are dedicated to supporting and legitimizing low-budget, experimental, and DIY films, especially those made by marginalized directors and first-time filmmakers. Crescent City Film Festival is an open, accessible forum for artists yet unseen.”
The submission fee for features is $20 for non-students and $10 for students and shorts are $10 for non-students and $5 for students. Students in the Greater New Orleans area can waive their submission by emailing a picture of their student ID to [email protected].
