The city will put on an official celebration of LGBTQIA+ identities on the weekend of June 7 through 9 during 2019 New Orleans Pride.
As the official organization behind the city’s annual celebrations, New Orleans Pride aims “to create an atmosphere where lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people can be proud of their sexual orientation and gender identity.” Through concerts, parades and other events throughout the year, New Orleans Pride raises money for “Stand For The Silent” to focus on ending bullying, and to put on the annual Pride weekend extravaganza.
The weekend, officially titled GE presents New Orleans Pride 2019, is comprised of more than 30 events. A running list of those can be found here. The main event is arguably the Pride Parade, which takes place on Saturday, June 8. It’s the largest LGBT+ parade on the Gulf Coast and rolls through the French Quarter in the evening.
Groups interested in marching in the Pride Parade can register here. Floats are sold out.
