2015 Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival Marks 10-Year Anniversary

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation will be hosting the 2015 Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival on Friday, October 16th, through Sunday, October 18th, at Lafayette Square Park in the Central Business District.

The highlight of this 10th edition of the festival will be Saturday night’s show entitled “Ride Your Pony Down to New Orleans – Home of the Blues,” featuring all members of the Funky Meters, Allen Toussaint and Irma Thomas.

Other headliners of the event’s two stages include Marcia Ball, Ruthie Foster, Denise Lasalle, Swamp Dogg,Walter Wolfman Washington, Jarekus Singleton, Mason Ruffner, Little Freddie King and many more.

The festival will also feature 30 arts and craft vendors, a variety of food vendors centered around barbecue, and an Oral History Stage on which performers will be publically interviewed about their lives, influences and music. This year’s interviewees include Lurrie Bell, Jarekus Singleton, Swamp Dogg, the Excello Reunion artists and more.

The event is free of charge and will run on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. More information can be found on the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation website.
