Tomorrow night–Thursday, January 21–OffBeat will host our annual Best of the Beat Music Awards at Generations Hall in the Warehouse District. The ceremony will feature plenty of awards, as well as performances by a number of local bands and complimentary food from over 20 New Orleans restaurants.
However, the Best of the Beat is a two-part operation, and last week we hosted a ceremony for our 2015 Music Business Awards at the newly-renovated Orpheum Theater. The event also honored our 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award winners: The Radiators (Music), renowned vocalist and educator Germaine Bazzle (Music Education), New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic Nurse Practitioner Catherine Lasperches (HeartBeat Award) and Tipitina’s Foundation co-founders/co-chairs Roland and Mary Von Kurnatowski (Music Business).
You can take a look at the music Business winners below, and you can read up on the Lifetime Achievement winners in the January issue of OffBeat. A photo gallery from last week’s ceremony can be found here.
