On Saturday, November 20, the third annual New Orleans Fringe Parade, featuring the Goodchildren Band, Krewe of Dead Pelicans, Defend Our Coast, SCADNOLA/SCAB1, Multispecies Salon: Swarm, Roux LaLa, Kamp Katrina, NOLA Pyrates, Drumcart, Krewe of MuuMuu, Fringe Festival performers and Guardian Angels, rolled through the Bywater from Poland Avenue into the Marigny. This year’s theme was “CarnivOil!”, with Quintron and Miss Pussycat as king and queen and Al “Carnival Time” Johnson and Pat Jolly as grand marshals. The parade is part of the festivities surrounding the New Orleans Fringe Festival, which celebrates out-of-the-ordinary theater and performance art. All photos were taken by Kim Welsh.
