Last night was the first night of the 2009 Beat of the Beat Awards, hosted by Harrah’s Casino New Orleans at the Theatre at Harrah’s. Awards were given out for the individual musician categories, music businesses, and to Deacon John Moore for his Lifetime Achievement in Music. Below are all the winners we presented last night.

Tomorrow night, Friday January 22, we’ll be presenting the Lifetime Achievement Awards in Music Education and Music Business, the Best of the Beat Heartbeat Award, and the awards for artists and albums in various genre categories. The party is so much more than just the awards though. Doors open at 6pm at House of Blues tomorrow, with complimentary catering from many of New Orleans’ best restaurants and free drinks courtesy of Glazer’s Distributors until 7pm. At 6:30 the musical performances will start, going all night long.
