1 Million Strong, an initiative dedicated to changing how people think about addiction and recovery, has partnered with the 2023 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The partnership will include a free sober-supportive wellness retreat experience for festivalgoers. Attendees can enjoy music, connect with others in recovery, and drink alcohol-free cocktails in a relaxing environment.
The sober-supportive wellness tent at the event aims to demonstrate that sobriety doesn’t mean individuals in recovery can’t enjoy events such as Jazz Fest. The tent will provide a space to support each other and connect with allies in the recovery movement.
The wellness experience is free and accessible to festivalgoers on both weekends of Jazz Fest, April 28-30 and May 4-7. The tent will open daily at 11:00 a.m. and offer mocktail happy hours and opportunities to connect with others in recovery.
Quint Davis, the Producer/Director of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, said that the wellness space would reflect the festival’s commitment to fostering an inclusive community where everyone feels welcome and celebrated.
1 Million Strong’s partnership with Jazz Fest is just one example of its efforts to serve thousands of fans in partnership with various festivals and events nationwide. The initiative has brought new opportunities, including mental health and wellness support, to events such as Bourbon & Beyond, Louder Than Life, Park City Song Summit, and concerts by artists such as The Chainsmokers.
