This morning, while getting dressed, I saw a threesome of religious leaders—Christian, Jewish and Muslim—discussing the difference between their religions. All agreed that the fundamentals of religion can be summed up in one word: L-O-V-E. Having the ability to show love and respect for one’s fellow man, no matter what religion (or non-religion) you have is what makes us human. Those who don’t feel loved, who don’t have a feeling of self-worth, who are hopeless, don’t respect themselves or others, who feel powerless; that’s the source of violence and war. All we need is love.
Me, my religion is music. If I didn’t have music to soothe me, heal me, remind me of lovely and sometimes-not-so-great memories, well, my life would be bereft. Music is emotion and a form of love that emanates from the soul of its creators. It’s a thread that connects us, a spirit that binds us.
All good music and loving wishes to our readers this Christmas. Don’t waste a minute of your time not appreciating your friends and family, and please love and appreciate yourself. Peace.
