The L.A. Times has a story today on the festival business, which has been hard hit by the recession. A number of festivals including Langerado in Florida cancelled for this year; others have had to make tickets available on a layaway basis or, like Voodoo, absorb the various fees and service charges to make tickets more affordable. The good news is that Coachella – which takes place this weekend – is on track for the third-best selling festival yet; it will be similarly interesting to see how the recession affects Jazz Fest.
