[UPDATED] I know this is Jazz Fest time, but don’t forget to set your DVRs for Treme tonight. If you remain on the fence about the show, give it through tonight and next week’s episodes before making any decisions. Last week established where the characters are in their lives; this episode written by David Simon and directed by actor Tim Robbins moves their stories forward in dramatic ways.
In other Jazz Fest/Treme news, there will be a “festival” shoot Tuesday. Donald Harrison and Wanda Rouzan’s New Orleans R&B Revue will be just some of the entertainment, and there will be free “festival food” as well as raffles and giveaways. Participants are encouraged to bring festival gear including chairs, blankets, hats, flags, umbrellas, and to dress festive. The event is free, starts at 8 a.m. and will go all day. To park and check in, take Marconi to Zachary Taylor Drive (under the I-610 overpass) and follow the FNN blue production signs. For details, call 504-940-7364.

David Simon, not George Pelecanos, wrote this episode. The story’s been changed to reflect that.
