The towers of CDs on my desk are endangering my life. Some I’ve realized I’m never going to get to, and on second listen, some haven’t proven interesting enough to even work up a good wisecrack. Others will remain on the desk because I still have hopes of doing more with them someday.
Jay Reatard: Singles 06-07 (In the Red): Jay Reatard has made a name for himself as a prolific sum’bitch recording lo-fi garage punk singles. The melodies are reasonably durable, but more than anything else, this CD sounds like a collection of ’70s British punk singles by the bands that never got attention on our side of the pond.
