When you enter the door at Tipitina’s night club, you immediately view the first visible shrine to one of New Orleans’ musical patron saints, Henry Roeland Byrd, the one and only “Professor Longhair.” Just as you enter the door, there sits a modest bust of the Professor, who died an untimely death in 1980 at the age of 61.
