New Orleans’ oldest working musician at 94, pianist Lawrence Cotton remains vital, “excited and delighted”

“I practice maybe two or three times a week though I should do it every day—but I'm a lazy man,” Lawrence Cotton freely admits. One may think “okay” until they realize that the pianist is 94 years old. At that advanced age practicing might not be considered necessary after a lifetime at the keyboards. It is to Cotton, whose pleasure playing music has never waned.
