Miss Pussycat

How does one capture music in a photo? The beat can’t be displayed in black and white; the melody not developed in a print. Ultimately it’s about the movement in the music with the motion of the band and the audience becoming an integral part of the experience. Last summer, during the tour of Quintron and Miss Pussycat, I danced through the crowd in an attempt to capture the whirlwind of personal reactions to their music.

Quintron and Miss Pussycat exude great energy while performing, feeding off each other and creating a palpable electricity in each venue.

This shot, of Miss P’s unique silhouette, complete with pom- pom and maraca, captures a rare moment of calm.
