Keeping on
I’m torn. I hope there is some “support OffBeat” built into the prices. I subscribe, but want to additionally support it, but I’m unemployed—it’s a stretch. There are some issues I need in my collection, so I’m hoping I’m making a little bit of contribution even while serving my own collection as opposed to adding to the GoFundMe. Some of the Dirty Dozen and Dumpstaphunk are good friends—if those 2021 issues ever end up in print, I’ll be all over those as well. OffBeat is such a valuable resource, and I truly appreciate y’all! Thank you for keeping on!

We appreciate the support. OffBeat is surviving on government loans, subscriptions, donations and, of course, the sale of our back issues and other merchandise. The pandemic has hurt most New Orleans businesses, especially those involved with music, making it unconscionable to ask these businesses to advertise. We hope that as the pandemic fades and restrictions ease up, OffBeat will resume a print edition, planned for early fall 2021. We do not anticipate printing those issues that were published digitally, but we continue to sell the covers in our shop. Check it out here.—Ed.
Magic
I think the magazine is really worth it. I used to pick it up when I worked in the city. I know New Orleans has really been hit hard by the pandemic but hang in there because you got a magic that no place has.
It is still “the city” and I have to know what’s going on. Booked my September-October rooms as soon as French Quarter Festival was announced.
