John Swenson, writer and contributing editor of OffBeat, a longtime friend of the staff and a New Orleans music lover, passed away on Sunday, March 27, after a long battle with cancer. He was also the heart and soul of the magazine. Both Jan Ramsey, founder and editor in chief of OffBeat, and Joseph Irrera, managing editor, contributed to this feature.
