Bassist David Lee Watson, who performed with many New Orleans bands, died of natural causes on April 23. A graduate of East Jefferson High School, Watson’s professional career commenced in the early 1970s when he replaced Jaco Pastorius in Wayne Cochran’s C.C. Riders.
