There is absolutely no way to overemphasize Dave Bartholomew’s contribution to the development of New Orleans rhythm and blues. Producer, talent scout, recording artist, songwriter, soloist, session player—the man has done it all, and he has done it exceedingly well. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Bartholomew was a key figure in the transition from jump blues and swing to rhythm and blues and rock ‘n’ roll.
