The hand of Danny Barker runs down the back of her neck and trails the sharp curves of her body.

''Just like an 18-year-old girl," says Barker, turning his guitar over and polishing its back.

But he allows that the guitar is as well-seasoned as its player. Barker remembers receiving the instrument as a present from the Gibson company, back when he was playing in Cab Calloway's band. And when he goes, he says, he's willing it to local musician
