The new Aquarium of the Americas on the banks of the Mississippi near Canal Street has just opened and is already heralded as a world-class achievement. This $40-million undertaking of the Audubon Institute, the organization responsible for the acclaimed Audubon Park Zoo, is indeed a dramatic spectacle. But, in addition to all the naturalistic wonders, there are also some man-made wonders attendant to this project in the form of a significant arts component—one that merits special attention.
