Tonight’s Saints game is unlikely to tell us much about the team that will take the field against the Minnesota Vikings next Thursday night (beside who’ll back up the back-ups), but an announcement of the NFL Kickoff 2010 Eve party at House of Blues hints at who might be riding the floats in the mini-parade that will roll along Decatur Street and past the stage at Jackson Square.
Robert Randolph and the Family Band is scheduled to perform the show with Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue opening, but the cadre of retired NFL stars slated to walk the red carpet likely tells us who’ll be on the floats—from the Saints, Morten Andersen, Joe Horn, Dalton Hilliard, Willie Roaf, Michael “Beer Man” Lewis and Pat Swilling. Also appearing: Marcus Allen (Raiders), Jerome Bettis (Steelers), Eric Dickerson (Rams), Eddie George (Titans), Floyd Little (Broncos), Thurman Thomas (Bills), Derrick Brooks (Bucs), Tim Brown (Raiders), Richard Dent (Bears), Antonio Freeman (Packers), Orlando Pace (Rams) and John Randle (Vikings).
