This Friday, June 28 OffBeat Magazine hosts the official release party for the July 2013 issue at the soon-to-be-open uptown music club and art space, GASA GASA from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The free party will feature live music from New Orleans’ own Go-Go-Brass-Funk band, the Brass-A-Holics, who cover this year’s July issue of OffBeat Magazine. In addition to snagging a free copy of the new OffBeat, guests will enjoy free food from GASA GASA’s Freret Street neighbor, Wayfare Handcrafted Food & Spirits and Sammy’s Deli, as well as complimentary cocktail tastings from Crown Royal and Glazers Liquor.
Join us Friday evening as we celebrate the release of our annual bar and cocktail issue, including our Essence Music Festival city guide and more. DJ Number9 will follow live sets by our July cover story artists, the Brass-A-Holics while GASA GASA offers a craft cocktail menu at the cash bar.
As always, supporting New Orleans musicians and the businesses that empower them is our focus at OffBeat Magazine. Friday night our friends at Sweet Home New Orleans and the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation will be in the building with information on some of their local programs such as the Empower Musicians Seal of Approval and the New Orleans Musicians Clinic. We strongly encourage our guests to make donations of any denomination to these fantastic organizations to help keep New Orleans music alive and well. You may also make donations via their websites from home. Please see below for more information.
