Despite the recent downpours, southern rock staple Little Feat will surely set the house on fire Saturday night (July 28) at Tipitina’s. The blue-collar band has seen more than its fair share of hi-s, lows – not to mention lineup changes – since stepping on to the musical terrain in 1969.
In OffBeat’s current issue, John Swenson conducts a in-depth interview with Feet guitarist Paul Barrere. The band’s latest album Rooster Rag, which features four Robert Hunter-penned songs, bears a distinct, New Orleans flavor, stands as a testament to their enduring legacy, and calls forth an earnest sense of renewal in the wake of longtime drummer Richie Hayward’s somber passing in 2009.
Above you’ll see Little Feat’s current lineup – Barrere, Billy Payne, Fred Tackett, Sam Clayton, Gabe Ford, and Kenny Gradney – cutting up on their new album’s title track, and below you’ll see the classic Lowell-George-era of the band rocking through “All You Can Dream” in 1977.
Did I mention that OffBeat is giving away a pair of tickets to the Little Feat concert at Tipitina’s on Saturday?

One luck winner will be drawn on Friday.
