Tonight, Los Angeles-based funk band Orgone plays at One Eyed Jacks. The group is a frequent presence on the Jazz Fest night show landscape, and played with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux on several tracks on last year’s Won’t Bow Down.

In this video, Orgone covers the Mary Jane Hooper’s classic New Orleans deep funk song “I’ve Got Reasons” at the 2011 All Good Music Festival. The song was written by Eddie Bo, and was one of his many late ’60s funk songs produced by Seafood City mogul Al Scramuzza.
