The second weekend of Jazz Fest began with “locals day” on Thursday at the 2012 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, so-called because of the lighter crowds. The day’s performances included Flow Tribe, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Tulane University Jazz Ensemble, Savoy Family Cajun Band, Otra, Mia Borders, Julio y Cesar band, Little Freddie King Blues Band, Free Agents Brass Band, George Porter Jr. and Runnin’ Pardners, Honey Island Swamp Band, Dumpstaphunk, Ani DiFranco, Leon “Kid Chocolate” Brown, Chico Trujillo, Esperanza Spalding, James Cotton Superharp Band, Astral Project, and Jimmy Buffett, all captured in the Jazz Fest photos below.
